Detachable Dragonfly batwing fairing, Street Glide rear fender and lights, frenched LED brake and running lights in the hard bags, RC chrome wheels w Metzelers, C&C custom seat. This is stunningly beautiful bike in excellent condition.

Power Train

Fairing

Dragonfly with matching paint and lightly smoked low profile windshield.

Light weight: The fairing weighs in at 18 lbs and is very stable at freeway speeds.
(Needs a marine grade radio/stereo deck.) Speakers are good.)

The Street Glide and Electra glide fairings weigh 40 pounds; that is a lot of weight on a high center of gravity.

Dichroic glass inserts

Heavy duty pewter ice dichroic glass inserts by Iron Glass Design. This glass sparkles like diamonds in the sunlight and compliments the silver V badge on the fuel tank.

If you park this bike next to a stock Road King you won’t believe they are the same bike. The Street Glide (FLHX) rear fender and lights on my bike are much smoother and better looking. The removable bat wing fairing also makes it look like the FLHX and will house any stereo gear. The chrome wheels are RC Components forged aluminum with high quality chrome. Being light and strong they reduce the unsprung weight for better handling. The console on the tank is a limited etd 05 – 07 custom HD.

LED lights frenched into the bags add a super custom touch and a margin of safety.

There are so many other chrome upgrades (grips, floorboards, mirrors, bag liners etc) that you would have a hard time finding anything to upgrade or replace. Everything is done and done right.

All this is nice and expensive and makes the bike stand out in a crowd but the real meat of the bike is in tuning the engine. In 2009 I had new Bubs true dual exhaust, K&N high flow filter and a power commander put on. All this was dyno tuned together for optimum air fuel ratio, more power and a cooler running, more reliable engine. It also allowed us to remove the O2 sensors (replaceable) so they will never be a problem. It was the best $1,860 I spent on the bike.

All together there is over $10,000 in value enhancing mods to this bike.

2007 is the sweet year for HD. It was the first year for the 96” engine to go into the production bikes. It had been under development by JIMs performance for 10 years. The 96” engine fixed the problem with the twin cam 88” engine (1999 – 2006) cam chain tensioner disaster and added better oil flow. HD also increased the stroke so it has more HP and torque. The 96” feels like an HD should.

In 2008 to 2011 HD really hosed things up. To keep EPA happy the bikes ran so lean and so hot that they had to add a module to the ECU map that shuts off the rear cylinder at an idle. They added fly by wire throttle and a bunch of sensors, all things waiting to go wrong and put your bike in the shop.

HD has pushed their limits with an air cooled engine. Watch for a radiator in 2012. The good air cooled bikes will retain their value.

If you can swing this you’ll be saving money down the road. This bike is rock solid and will be dependable for a very long time. If any of this peaks your interest let’s get together so you can ride the dream.
